My goal with this blog is to release some kind of pent up tension I've been storing. It's been a rough decade. Let's talk.
A little background:
My name is Amy. Whenever I say that I shudder for some reason. Amy is my name. But I never hear it! I rarely answer to it. I answer primarily to MOM. (please, feel free to call me whatever but unless you are screaming 'MOM' in just the right way and there are art supplies or toilet flush involved, don't expect a prompt answer).
I'm 31. Eeep! While 31 may not sound old to some people....I feel I have a personal issue with me being anything over 30. Now, 20-anything I didn't have to have a plan. I could 'wing it' and no one would think anything of it! But the second I hit 30...or anything above that, I have to be serious. (I have my serious expression on)
Attempting to go back to school. (double eeep!). I noticed when my daughter started bringing home math homework that I didn't even understand...I might have a wee bit of a math problem.
Active in volunteerism. You name it I do it.
I have three amazing kids. Allison (Allie) is 11. She has heart disease. Get ready to hear all about that. Andrew is 6 (whoa...when did that happen??) and Ryan is 3. Yep...kind of spaced out in age. There's a reason for that....or several. We'll get there.
I am married too. Husband probably wants to remain anonymous. We will just call him "the husband".
I live in New England. There is nothing like New England. But where I live...we are so far away from the ocean. I actually grew up in coastal Maine communities. I currently live in the mountains. It's not the same. I love where I live....but I'm not IN love with where I live. Get that? (the whole "it's not you, it's me" thing is in full effect). I live in a cultural mecca...that part, I love. But I have no ocean, you see. It's in my blood. If you parked an ocean right here....I would be in heaven....because this place has it all.
I use a lot of .... DOTS. I know. It's an annoyance. In my defense, it's actually how I talk! I notice myself pausing a lot...(doh!) so unless you want a lot of UMMMMM's thrown in here, just ignore the overuse of dot dot dots.
